Grey Dove Oyster

Pleurotus Ostreatus   This species will fruit in cold weather, usually in its first year.  I find it to be an excellent use for poplar, aspen and Manitoba maples which are growing in an inopportune spot. Straw bales or woodchip beds will fruit in as little as a few months, if conditions are right.   I prefer it on logs, where big flushes are produced as soon as the first cold snap of fall hits.  This is a vigourous species with lots of potential for growing and expansion on cardboard, waste coffee, straw, corn stalks, wood chips, burlap, etc.
